projector, media player, and screen (16' x 9')
A walk down a long hallway that cuts right through the entirety of a building amid demolition. It appears never-ending, with spaces on either side containing various salvaged materials, if anything at all. The finished work arose from a chance occurrence—the original painted wood projection screen had been damaged by a heavy rainstorm. Having been put together from two identical sections, the damaged side was removed. In the interim, the projection still running for testing created a kind of split screen—the left side on the original screen and the right directly on an old, highly patinaed stone surface of the space, with the structural frame still visible. The difference created perplexing optical effects and play between the left and right sides.
