Using his sound generating sculpture, New York City Kites, 1970, the artist and electronic music composer Jean-Yves Labat performed improvisations that focused on the similarities and differences between electronic and concrete sounds and the performative approach to the two ‘instruments.’ This performance is the beginning of Hill’s processual work.
