During a presentation of his works at the American Center in Paris, Hill accompanied his video Black/White/Text, 1980, speaking and chanting through a microphone. His voice functioned something like a microscope focused on different layers of the multi-track recording while he gestured with his hands improvising with the changing image of the embedded rectangles.
Note: This performance was also part of the Speakeasy Performances, 1996, and Image et language, 2005.
